" Chinese Herb "

Photobucket

You know you're in chinatown when you see a group of twig-like sticks tied together and displayed outside a local store.
We call it " Ham Tsao Kua "- read in fookien, there's another name but
I can't seem to find its equivalent.
Ham Tsao Kua - is a traditional chinese herbal medicine that alleviates and helps cool our body system.
It can also be a remedy for cold.
Just ask any chinese medicine store.
Because our family still rely much on traditional medicine.
I'm used to seeing them being boiled into drink or as a broth.

ps: Hi everyone!
glad to be back. ^0^

" Orbit "

Photobucket

Sunset spotting is beginning to be one of my favorite subject and
I'm glad I caught this riveting moment in time to post for this week.
This was actually last Sunday's rendition,
It rained heavily that afternoon and I thought the sky was going to be bleak.
but hours later, as the sun was going down,
this unexplainable form of clouds created this delightful palette and almost
an orbit like circling in the middle, and I knew I just had to have this shot. ^0^

Happy Friday everyone!

Looking forward to a bit of my long weekend break,
hopefully (again) with some good rest.
so, I will be off from posting but will be back soon (before you know it). ^0^

for more inspiring sky hunting, visit Skywatch today and share your foto as well. ^0^

" He's a macho "

Does he look familiar?
Maybe to some. ^0^

Photobucket

Yes, that's our pound for pound ultimate champion boxer Mr. Manny Pacquiao, or Congressman P. for that matter.
In a leisure park here in Pasay, stands his fearless statue.
Sculpted by Fred Baldemor.

" The growing tree "

Photobucket

I seldom walk around this block which used to be on my way to school,
but this familiar street, has changed a bit, a few of the shops and structures have come and go, but this particularly tree won't seem to budge,
i;m glad it still the way it is, pretty much looks the same.
and the roof has been cut off especially, giving this tree some room to grow. ^0^

" Looking up "

Photobucket

It's these days that I wish I could laze around and not worry about anything,
Just be free and careless.

On a personal note :
Boy am I glad today's friday,
you know how we always wish someone a great week ahead,
well, mine didn't turn out the way I expected.
It was a terrible week for me,
lots of weird, unexpected situations turned up
and there's this heap of burden that won't go away.
I wish next week, fate will be a bit nice for me. ^0^

" Angela Building "

Photobucket

another dilapidated tenement across the commercial district seen along Recto.
What's evident though, was the printed signage that perfectly marked how old this structure was.

" Yutivo Building "

Many of the locals here might have looked through this structure,
hardly noticing what this edifice looks like.
Located along Dasmariñas, named after its owner called Yutivo.
Hard to believe that this one's been here since 1920's,
hence, the art deco-ish inspired architecture.

Photobucket

I would´ve like to shot the whole thing,
but during the day the street gets busy and much to preserving its decor,
there has been this obtrusive signs hanging out.

" A few of my favorite things "

I must admit that I love collecting cute plushy thingies ever since I was a kid
and Hello Kitty is one of my favorites,
but if only I have enough space in my room. ^0^

" Night Lights "

Photobucket

This park along Pasay that overlooks the bay,
lights up beautifully at night.
But still not enough in my opinion.
I wish there were more recreational activities and interesting things to see.
These days, some of the establishments here have started to close down and
the less lighted area seemed off.
If the purpose were to attract people to hang out and dine.
it would be best if special events are featured here from time to time
Because restos are battling neck to neck
or maybe a fun amusement park where kids can frequently visit to.

" Ice Hockey "

Anyone game for this kind of sport? ^0^

I think this foto made you think for a second that it wasn't in Manila.

Photobucket

Call me " welcome to the universe" but I didn't know we even had one here till
I saw a group of players practicing for the game.
Like some onlookers, I was also a bit curious, so I stayed for awhile to watch the game.
I'm not exactly sure who's winning at some point.
But this one did reminded me of the movie The Mighty Ducks. ^0^

These are some the aerial shots.

" Are you sleeping? "

Photobucket

Hiya!
I finally had some time to tinker with my dear ol' camera.
In one of my quiet walks along SM-Moa the other day,
I spotted these two kids, each of them taking a spot of their own.
I don't think they're pretending to be asleep though,
I bet they're tired after a hard day's work. ^0^

" Carlos P. Romulo "

Standing amidst the crowd, along roxas blvd and almost in front of a hotel,
upright while raising its right hand is a statue of this friendly looking figure.
But like any monuments, we only have a vague idea of him.

An excerpt from this site answers.com .

"Carlos P. Romulo (1899-1985) was an author and the foremost diplomat of the Philippines. He was the only Filipino journalist to win the Pulitzer Prize and the first Asian to serve as president of the UN General Assembly (1949).
He also gained prominence as America's most trusted Asian spokesman."

" 3 sided figure "

This is one of the structures inside the walls of Intramuros that is along Cabildo street.
How old this is, I don't have an inkling really.
I like the irregularity of its shape that connects with another old tenement.

Photobucket

Btw, I have been missing out on daily life lately, the rains keep pouring and it's hard to go out for a
walk without getting yourself wet or your feet be soak in water for that matter. ^0^
