" The Anime event "

So there was this Cosplay event last week at a mall here in Manila and boy was I glad I had my camera with me, like always, the place was packed with people and if you're an Otaku person and a true anime fanatic, then, i'm sure you're familiar with this event.
Since it's not exclusive, the meet and greet seems to be everywhere,
resulting to a bit of confusion and disarray, despite that,
I still manage to get some cool and interesting close up shots and here are
some of the highlights.

" Starting the year with a Bang! "

Happy 2011 everyone! ^0^
I'm back from my trip, still need to sort out fotos,
but I'll be posting some of them soon.



Just 10 minutes before the clock strikes twelve. non-stop fireworks display
were seen and heard everywhere, the sounds were so loud that as I was taking fotos,
I had to take a few steps back. ^-^
and of course, there's always something dazzling about it and
lucky this was right outside our window.

I wish everyone a good and prosperous year ahead.

" His first 100 days "

Today, June 30, on a glorious wednesday, marks the proclamation of our new president - Benigno Aquino III, better known as Noynoy Aquino.
The name may sound familiar to you as he's the son of our late president Cory Aquino
and senator Ninoy Aquino, who was assassinated during Marcos regime.
Both of his parents played such important roles in changing the lives and history on each one of us and now, it's his turn, once again, an "Aquino" heading our country.




The photo you're looking at is the Rizal Park, here in Luneta.
Normally it looks like this, but since today marks a memorable event,
I think the place will be filled with people and I'm sure everyone
and anyone will bring or wear "yellow" (the official symbol) for that mattter.

Through the last 9years, president GMA (Gloria Macapagal Arroyo) ruled this nation without any success.
She was blamed for anomalies here and there that boils down to Corruption.
She tried to stay firm despite 5 attempts of impeachment complaints.
But in the end, we are still in-debt, one of the most corrupt country, still can't alleviate poverty, less justice, more violence and crimes, we're hungry for Change.

We are all hoping that pres. Noynoy will stay true to his convictions, unbiased, having firm principles to finally stabilize this nation once again.

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed.

I wish I knew what this sculpture was trying to convey,
I didn't any find info about it when I was there.
maybe it was only meant as an accent piece.

This year's AOF (Anime Overload Festival) convention was held at the SMX convention centre
which is near the Church i mentioned last week.



Sister pepperoni has been nagging and begging for months that we should come see this anime event
and yesterday, we finally did.
Boy! was I amazed and shocked to see that there were hordes of mostly "teens" who
attended this event, there were photographers, event organizers, the friends of those friends
who were there and the list goes on...
A lot of eager cosplay contestants are already outside either taking a break or
posing for some good shots.

The entrance fee inside was P100 each ( free photo prints, gaming, some manga readings as well).
The function room was big enough but still the place was packed with people.



When we were there, the events had already started, on the stage was the karaoke singing competition.
While listening to them, we went on to the other side to see what some of the booths were selling.
Although, some of the memorabilia and cute items were really pricey... they were all kawaii-ness. (cuteness!)



Thanks to sis pepperoni, she hinted me some of the kawaii and death defying characters I will share on this two part series.
