The month of May brings to mind two things: feasts and flowers.
Outside the entrance of a posh resto in Makati are these vibrant colors,
perfectly displayed as an accent piece.
They're paper daisy or straw flower,
simply known as "Everlasting", straight from "Baguio City"- a city famous for its cool, almost unchanging climate, fresh strawberries and flower festival, locally called "Panagbenga" festival.
Strings of these flowers are sold in the markets and streets during summer.
Due to its longevity, it is also a favorite of devotees who adorn their
altars with these blooms.
I don't know if these came straight from Baguio, but it sure looks very attractive don't you think? ^0^
It usually comes in orange, but this one has got pink and some white tones.

ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful. I found them here. We actually planted them from seeds a few years ago, they are called helichrysum. The ones we planted produced beautiful blooms. Here you can find the ones we had in the garden (http://www.flickr.com/photos/15205767@N03/sets/72157606487020759/)
