"aged"

Photobucket

I found this dated structure infront of Sta. Cruz church.
What used to be a bank called Monte de piedad savings and mortgage. ( see emblem cross on the middle).
It has an eclectic blend of architecture, the glass arch window, the art nouveau railings on the balcony and the classic pediments.
In some countries, this would be quite a common sight but I think in here, it's quite rare to see these kinds of structures, what with new infrastructures here and there, not preserving the old ones.

  7. Another building which I wish the city would restore, like the old Capitol Theater in Escolta.

  8. Love old buildings - great photo opportunities. And thanks for the brief, all too brief, lesson in architecture!

  9. Incongruous with the window air conditioners. Nice catch.

  10. Beautiful building, perfect for a B&W (probably it looks equally beautiful in color). I like the pediments, they are quite unusual, and the railings looks very nice as well. Great find.
