Universidad de Manila~ is a public school located at the heart of the mehan garden adjacent to the Liwasang Bonifacio, Manila City Library and LRT station. Not to be mistaken as University of Manila though...that's another school...
I recently discovered that its original name was City College of Manila (CCM), but when Lito Atienza took office as Mayor during 2002. He changed it to Universidad de Manila.
In 2007, when Lim was re-elected as Mayor, he reverted it to its original name; however, a few months into office, he renamed it again to Gat Andrés Bonifacio University... yeah... its history can be a little confusing...
It was lunchtime when i took this shot so I was lucky to catch a few students leaving the campus.

Nice snap! O to be a college student again ....maybe.
ReplyDeleteLovely shot of the institution!
ReplyDeleteI am reminded of my student days.
Great pictures of this school! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting history. Looks like a very busy place!
ReplyDeleteThe building looks pretty good. I just wish they'd settle on the name.
ReplyDeleteI hate this alitan between Atienza and Lim. It's very disruptive, especially when they begin overturning good and reasonable decisions just because it was the other guy's idea. It's so bad, they even refuse to sit beside each other!
hilda: ^-^ lol, both of them can be so childish at times...
ReplyDeleteWonder why they keep changing the name?
ReplyDeleteImpressive building all the same.
