In a local street here in Manila there's a line of shops selling
religious relics and artifacts.
Pinoys tend to be superstitious if not believers of faith and the supreme being.
Regardless of whether or not you do,
I'm sure there's something interesting to see.
Take this shop for example, because I only have seconds before the car speeds ahead,
it was hard to get a good angle, so this is pretty far a good one.
When I was tweaking my foto, I was surprised to see that the religious figures are
still covered in plastics, for protection against dust and getting old I guess. ^0^
upon looking closer, they have a bust of Jose Rizal ( national hero) and they even sell tombstone!
how morbidly interesting is that?!

Love this kind of stores! Have a great weekend Arabesque.
ReplyDeleteVery Pinoy photo, I suppose, but you can find the sames shops selling the same stuff pretty much everywhere. Anyway, I always found the limit between religion and superstition very... vague. What is religion for some is superstition for others, and vice versa.
ReplyDeleteI like this kind of store that sells images of saints. Very well captured image.
ReplyDeleteis that jose rizal's bust mixed in with the religious icons?
ReplyDeleteI think it would be fun to look around stalls like that one!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend
