caught this odd looking guy walking down this side of the bridge.

" hazy "
seen at the banks of Pasig River, overlooking the Maynilad Water Services office.

note:
This is what happens when things seem to be out of focus and when shot in a haste.
Unintentionally, its effect came out like this. ^0^

" A bit of deco "
Almost out of sight in this area around Sta. Cruz, where busy streets, cramped housing and congested traffic, stands this Art deco inspired structure.
now I don't know what happened to this building but it seems to have its glory
back in the days and now, judging from its condition, what's left are
low cost rental housing for the middle class.

" Silhouette "
and yet another view of the bay,
always surprising to see how the color changes from time to time.
and this time it looks still and very calm.
Hope you're not getting tired looking at it,
haven't been out and about lately,
I miss my camera most of all. ^-^
happy weekend everyone!

" National bookstore "
Still one of the biggest chain in town, despite the recent bookstores sprouting
here and there.
In fact, it used to be my number one aid back when I was studying.
They have everything from textbooks to novels, even a whole range of school supplies,
and hallmark cards, you name it they got it.
how about you, what's it like in your neck of the wood? ^-^
ps: sorry for not visiting and if posting is a bit of a random.
Life has been busy and managing time in between blogging, erm, can be difficult. ^-^
But I do read your comments all the time and appreciate it a lot.

" Manila Metropolitan Theatre "
With a glimpse seen from above, this is
one of the few Art Deco inspired structures in Manila
and it's the
Manila Metropolitan Theatre.

Built during the 1930's, It has undergone numerous renovation, surviving the war even, but with little hope, sadly, this structure felt like its abandoned
and eerily haunted.
I have yet to visit its facade when I have the time.
It would be interesting to see what it really looks like.
Back in 1995, our dance troupe even had a memorable performance,
but those were the days...

" The Anime event "
So there was this Cosplay event last week at a mall here in Manila and boy was I glad I had my camera with me, like always, the place was packed with people and if you're an Otaku person and a true anime fanatic, then, i'm sure you're familiar with this event.
Since it's not exclusive, the meet and greet seems to be everywhere,
resulting to a bit of confusion and disarray, despite that,
I still manage to get some cool and interesting close up shots and here are
some of the highlights.

looking at their backs...

some cute hats! ^0^

" Laing "
Laing - sounds like lying, is a famous Bicolano dish and is made from dried
Taro leaves or Gabi, that are meticulously shredded, or otherwise will taste itchy.
Its delectable concoction with Coconut milk, some pork, Jalapeno pepper gives
this dish a creamy with a spicy twist in it. ^0^

" Repose "
If you want to catch a partial view of the bay,
head to the top deck, there are some comfy cushioned seats,
and what i'm showing right now is a glimpse of the
Philippine Coast Guard Headquarters.
In b*w

a word of caution though, the smell emanating from the bay can be quite
disturbing. ^-^

it's a nice balmy evening when I was there.

one could even catch a view of the bay.

" attention please "
Inside Cafe Ilang Ilang is a smorgasbord of different cuisines and delectable desserts.
I was so busy getting small portions of this and that, plus the talking while dining that I completely forgot to take photos on some of the dish.
But I hope you like dessert... ^0^
Here's a scrumptious strawberry dessert.

for those conscious on their weight.
a sugar free pudding delight.

more sweetness and love the arrangement.

the bread portion, they looked like donuts but they're bagels.

a bigger view of the dessert area.

Sorry, I'm bad at remembering the name of the dishes,
but I think it's greek.

and i'm sure there's something that will suite your palate.

the main area of the buffet,
from Mexican burritos, to Chinese Pekin duck, to Japanese tempura and sashimi, to Italian pasta and Greek and Indian and Korean. ^-^ told you there's plenty.

Not only does it have a warm ambiance but the food was great as well.
In my opinion, better than Hotel Sofitel's Spiral or Hyatt's Market Cafe.
But as always, they only look good for now,so we'll see what happens in the
months to come. I hope it stays delicious. ^0^

" Cafe Ilang Ilang "
Cafe Ilang Ilang as the name suggests is a resto that offers buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
But nothing seems stunning when the lights go dim and the dining experience becomes interesting as its interior.
I've never been there before, so I don't have an inkling what it looks like then, but the newly decorated furnishings was a definite masterpiece.
The one bit that I found most intriguing is this dome shaped room,
for those who wanted less noise outside and more privacy.
It looks small in this foto but has quite a room for at least 20 people.

and on the left is an array of delectable selections.

the place seems like a maze at first, but in every corner you turn are different kinds of cuisine for you to choose.

another passageway into another area, guests dining in.

From the outside looking, another dining area.

and the entryway to Cafe Ilang Ilang.

more about its food tomorrow. ^0^
